Americans React: The Falklands War | Why Argentina Lost & What the Islanders Wanted

Americans React: The Falklands War | Why Argentina Lost & What the Islanders Wanted We’ve reacted to the Falklands War before, but this 1982 documentary gave us the deepest look yet at why Argentina lost, how Britain responded, and what the Falkland Islanders themselves actually wanted. 🇬🇧🇦🇷 From the military decisions and logistics behind the conflict to the people living on the islands, this filled in a lot of gaps we still had about one of the most fascinating chapters of modern British history. We were both kids when the Falklands War happened, so almost everything we’ve learned about Britain, Argentina and the South Atlantic conflict has come years later through these reactions. This time we heard perspectives we hadn’t heard before, learned more about how the islanders viewed the situation, and even heard actual recorded communications from people involved in the events. That part alone had us sitting there thinking, “Wait… we’re actually hearing this?” There’s something very different about history when suddenly it stops feeling like a textbook and starts sounding like real people making real decisions in real time. 👇🏻 About The Natasha & Debbie Show 👇🏻 Two Americans learning British history several decades later than everyone else.
