The previous calibration had timing targets the engine couldn't achieve, emissions monitors that weren't functioning, an overly aggressive burble map the owner wanted toned down, and intake air temperatures climbing with no protection strategy in place. We stripped the old file, started from scratch with a custom calibration built from actual log data, and put this M157 5.5L twin-turbo V8 down at 549 whp on the dyno, over 700 horsepower at the crank. Three revision cycles, full emissions compliance with all OBD-II readiness monitors setting and passing, and a controlled burble tune that sounds right without cooking the catalysts.
