I Got Some Dirt On Me | John 9:1-7 ESV | Pastor J. Thomas II | The Bridge Indy

Everybody wants the miracle… but nobody wants the mud. In John 9, Jesus encounters a man who has been blind from birth. The disciples see somebody to investigate. Jesus sees somebody He can use to reveal the works of God. And then Jesus does something strange. He spits on the ground. He makes mud. And He puts the dirt directly on the man’s eyes. The very thing that looked messy became part of the miracle. In “I Got Some Dirt On Me,” Pastor J. Thomas II challenges us to stop being ashamed of the dirt attached to our story. Every messy season isn’t evidence that God has left you. Sometimes the dirt is proof that God is still working. In this message: • Stop letting people define you by what they heard about you. • Everybody discussing your condition doesn’t understand your purpose. • God can use the messy parts of your story. • Some things won’t make sense until you obey. • What looks like dirt to somebody else may be the very thing God uses to open your eyes. • Don’t clean off what God is using to clear up your vision. • You can have dirt on you and still have destiny in you. They may have some dirt ON you. You may even have some dirt IN your story. But the dirt doesn’t get the final word. God does. This is BRIDGE BUILDERS. We’re not just trying to look built—we’re letting God use everything we’ve been through to build something that lasts.
