LIGHT BEARERS - Sept Edition 7Days Prayer & Fasting (Day 5)

The message draws from John 12:23–36, where Jesus discusses the hour of His glorification, the grain of wheat that dies to produce much fruit, a voice from heaven, His being lifted up to draw all people, and the crowd's questioning of how the Son of Man could die when the law states the Christ remains forever — to which Jesus responded by urging them to walk in the light. Having just entered Jerusalem on a donkey, Jesus used the analogy of a grain of wheat falling to the ground and dying to prepare His followers for His impending death. Hebrews 2:10 shows why: His death was necessary to bring many sons into glory and to transfer His level of manifestation to believers willing to believe. The crowd, who had followed Jesus for three and a half years, understood from the law and passages like those from David that the Christ was supposed to live forever rather than die. Jesus addressed this confusion by explaining that His death and resurrection functioned to provide light, so that believers could become sons of light and avoid darkness. This light carries with it true riches and inheritances. Isaiah 60:1–4 and Colossians 1:12 show that the office of Christ supplies light to believers, and that light comes bearing hidden, valuable tokens — much like morning sunlight, which emits vitamin D and triggers photosynthesis in trees. Isaiah 60:4–12 details what these tokens look like in practice: gathered people representing influence and legacy, spiritual vision and clarity, joy, the abundance of the sea, the wealth of Gentiles, gold and incense denoting divinity, and acceptance on the altar. Light also grants dominion in the marketplace, pictured through the ships of Tarshish, foreign builders, and subservient kings. Isaiah 60 further reveals that light brings peace with enemies and an eternal excellence comparable to Daniel's standard, pictured in a metaphorical material progression — bronze to gold, iron to silver — representing the amplification of anointing and the transition from humanity to divinity. God Himself will be an everlasting light to believers, ensuring that their illumination never dims or ceases.
