A note from our team — this is one of those stories the history books buried, and we think you deserved to hear it. Our historians traced it through original frontier-era sources, our writers shaped it into something that does the reality justice, and our artists built every visual from scratch so you could see what life on the trail actually looked like.
That's how every video on this channel gets made — one story at a time, each one with its own dedicated research, its own visuals, and its own voice. No two are the same, because no two stories from the frontier ever were.
Hit subscribe and join the trail. We've barely scratched the surface.
Every outlaw started somewhere. This is the full arc, from the dust at the back of the herd to the last row of a movie theater.

This video follows one fictional man through ten stages of life in the American West, from a teenage cattle drover on the Chisholm Trail in the 1870s to an aging ex-convict watching Hollywood rewrite his story in 1924. Every location, law, institution, and historical event in the script is real. The character is not. What you get is fifty years of frontier history told through the body of one life.
The script draws on documented trail-drive practices, federal court jurisdiction in Indian Territory, the killing winter of 1886-87, the Johnson County War of 1892, Pinkerton Agency pursuit methods, Wyoming Territorial Prison conditions, and the rise of the dime novel and early Western cinema as competing forms of historical memory.
