Yesterday’s 40km ride was a reminder that cycling isn't just about the sport or the distance—it’s about the connection. When you get off the main roads and into the rural heart of Malta, the experience changes. You aren't just passing through; you’re meeting the people who know the land best. I spent some time talking to a local farmer who shared stories of the past—the history behind the names of these fields and how life in these areas used to be. These are the conversations you never have from inside a car. Cycling gives you the pace to stop, listen, and learn. It’s a social bridge to a Malta that many have forgotten.
