Embracing The Process: You're Allowed to Enjoy Life Before You're Successful

Don't wait until you're rich to let yourself enjoy life. If there's something you want to buy or somewhere you want to go, and you have the time and can comfortably afford it, it's okay to let yourself enjoy it—as long as you're still being responsible and it's not breaking the bank. We only get one life, and I don't think we should spend all of it waiting for some perfect future. I'm not saying you should spend irresponsibly or stop saving for your future. I'm just saying that your life is happening now, too. Don't wait for someone to come into your life before you start living it. Don't wait until you're in a relationship or married to go somewhere you want to go, try something new, or create memories. If you can do it safely on your own, do it. The right person can become part of your life someday, but your life is already happening now. I'd rather look back and be glad that I allowed myself to experience life than realize I spent years waiting for someone to experience it with. I think that's part of embracing the process. You can still have goals for your future while allowing yourself to enjoy the life you have today. Don't postpone living while you're working toward the life you want. Save for your future, be responsible with your money, and keep working toward your goals—but allow yourself to enjoy things along the way, too.
