The "Pocket Change" Mystery: mW vs. dBm 💰
Imagine you have $100. You can carry it two ways:
The mW Way (Linear): You carry 10,000 pennies. It’s the exact same amount of money, but it’s heavy, messy, and takes forever to count! 😫 2. The dBm Way (Logarithmic): You carry one $100 bill. It’s the same value, but way easier to read and keep in your pocket. 😎
The Big Secret: In the WiFi world, signal strength can get super tiny—like 0.0000001 mW. Instead of counting all those zeros (the "pennies"), we just say -70 dBm (the "bill"). It’s the same power, just a much cooler way to write it!
