The Man Who Got Thrown Out For Asking Too Much | Dag Heward-Mills

He tells the story of a man who showed up at his office demanding an organ, microphones and loudspeakers for his ministry, repeating himself so much he finally had to be shown out. Weeks later the same man came back, calm and patient this time, and that patience is what finally touched the pastor's heart. He uses it to explain Matthew 6:7's warning against 'vain repetitions' - the difference between real persistence and just nagging. Along the way there's a joke about Christians praying for a DC-10 jet they'll never fly, and a warning that winning an election can sometimes do more harm than good. The point: keep asking God, but space it out - badgering him like a stranger at your car window gets you nowhere.
