A number of creedal Christians hop on this TikTok panel (hosted by Cole Noorda) and attempt to prove creedal dogmas such as the consubstantiality of the Trinity, traditional authorship, scriptural infallibility, and the legitimacy of Christian tradition. Pay attention to their claims vs. their arguments. The latter is virtually nonexistent. Rather than providing premises backed by evidence, and reasoning toward a conclusion, the conclusion is repeatedly presupposed and then justified by appealing back to their dogma. I call this “ DOGMALOGUING ”: Rigidly asserting or reciting dogma in a dialogue rather than genuinely reasoning with the other person. “The Trinity is true.” “The Bible is infallible.” “Paul wrote it.” “The Church has always taught this.” ^ Mantras to assuage oneself in one's beliefs ^ Okay.
