In May 2018, a hairdresser in a small coastal town in North Florida finishes her Saturday shift and never makes it home. Her car turns up in a hardware store parking lot miles away, and the camera shows someone else climbing out of it. Three days later the new girl at the salon is pulled out of a car at a highway rest stop and booked for stealing that vehicle. She thinks that is the only reason she is in the room. Then her fingerprints come back, and the name she has been using for nineteen years stops existing. For the next two hours she tells detectives everything about her life. Her son, the bank robber boyfriend, the three diplomas under three different names, the night she almost burned her own fingerprints off. She laughs through most of it. There is one name she never brings up, and one question she never asks.
