The stamp was bought from an African national residing in Bengaluru. Livya's actions were part of a larger plan to resolve ongoing disputes within the family, especially over financial issues. Naryana Das, a fitness trainer, revealed that Livya had hidden the drug stamp in Sheela's belongings. After an investigation, it was confirmed that the stamp was fake. Sheela Sunny spent 72 days in jail before the charges were disproven. Livya Jose, currently in Dubai, is being pursued by the CBI with the help of Interpol.
