『最後の電車で帰る夜 — THE LAST TRAIN HOME』は、 雨が上がった深夜の街をひとり歩く、60代の日本人男性の一夜を描いた 全6曲の男性ボーカル・ジャズアルバムです。 夜10時40分頃。 雨の跡が残る静かな街から物語は始まります。 夜11時45分、最後の電車に乗り、 川沿いを歩き、 眠れない街の窓を見上げ、 深夜の食堂で見知らぬ誰かと同じ夜を分かち合い、 そして朝になる前に、もう一度自分の家へ帰っていきます。 その長い夜の中で、 昔の恋、若かった頃の自分、 手にしたもの、置いてきたもの、 そして今も自分の中に残っているものを静かに見つめていきます。 このアルバムが描くのは、 過去へ戻ることではありません。 夜は、過去へ戻るためにあるのではない。 もう一度、今日へ帰るためにある。 1950〜60年代のスモールコンボ・ボーカルジャズを基調に、 ピアノ、ウッドベース、ブラシドラムを中心として、 ミュートトランペット、テナーサックス、フリューゲルホルン、 ギター、クラリネットが曲ごとに静かに寄り添います。 成熟した低い男性バリトンと、 深夜から夜明けへ向かう6つの風景をお楽しみください。 JAZZ VOL.01 最後の電車で帰る夜 THE LAST TRAIN HOME ―――――――――― THE LAST TRAIN HOME is a six-track male vocal jazz album following one night in the life of a Japanese man in his sixties. The story begins around 10:40 p.m., on a quiet city street still carrying traces of the evening rain. At 11:45 p.m., he boards the last train. He walks beside the river, looks up at the windows of a city that has not yet gone to sleep, shares the late-night silence of a small diner with strangers, and finally makes his way home before morning. Through the long night, he quietly reflects on an old love, the person he once was, the things he gained, the things he left behind, and the things that still remain within him. This is not a story about returning to the past. The night is not there to take us back. It is there to bring us home to today. Rooted in the intimate sound of 1950s–60s small-combo vocal jazz, the album is built around piano, upright bass and brushed drums, with muted trumpet, tenor saxophone, flugelhorn, mellow guitar and clarinet quietly accompanying the six scenes of the night. A mature low male baritone carries the story from late night toward dawn, moving through reflection and longing toward warmth, acceptance and quiet hope.
