Every time you ask an AI a question, a data centre somewhere burns real electricity. The number is bigger than almost anyone realises — and the grid was never built for it. Artificial intelligence is now growing faster than the power systems underneath it. The IEA puts data centres at roughly 1.5% of global electricity demand today and expects that to roughly double by 2030. Meanwhile the cooling alone consumes millions of gallons of water, and in a growing number of regions data centres are competing directly with households for supply. This video goes through what is actually known: how much power these facilities draw, where the water goes, what it does to electricity prices, and whether nuclear, renewables or more efficient chips can close the gap in time. Where the figures are contested, we say so. Next: why nobody — including the people who built them — can fully predict what these systems will do.    • Why AI Gets More Unpredictable the Smarter...   #AI #DataCenters #Energy
