This song began life at Ari's house 2023. It was a 'jam' at the time. I picked up my guitar and got into a rhythm & chord sequence, singing heart sounds from the unknown world (this is called euphonics).
I was quickly joined by Ari (hand-drum); her daughter Anna (finger-click & funny faces); Eli ( on a second hand-drum and with vocals) & a friend Michal on jew's-harp, and counter-tenor).
I called it 'Shaman song' at the time, because of the drums and the chanting style we adopted.
I am English ; Ari is originally Hungarian/Romanian (it's complicated) living in Austria; Anna is Austrian/Hungarian/Romanian (even more complicated) And Eli & Michal are both Czech.
It's all close to each other though, in central Europe (except the English bit!)
As the months went by I added lyrics. It turned into this 'one-world' song. In the autumn I recorded it at Studio. I couldn't gather us all together again in the studio.
So I re-created it all myself, but was still wanting to add a female vocal. Then I thought of Judit whom I'd met 7 years ago when we briefly were part of a one-world band called The Tree of Life Mantra Circle! I asked if she fancied the project and she said: "YES!"
I was also wondering how I might film for what had become an epic, anthemic track. It has so many moving parts! Then I came across a mandala artist called Ágnes on Facebook, and loved the look of her art. So I visited her and bought a painting. Then, her partner, Csaba, arrived and we realised that he and I had been in the Tree of Life band in 2018, together. He was one of the percussionists. They told me they had met when Ágnes had danced at a mini-festival and Csaba had played the drums. So then I had a light-bulb moment! DANCE!!!
I asked them both if they'd like to dance in the film, and for Csaba to add percussion, and they said: "YES!"
So now a team was assembled, and that's the film that you see here. Judit came to the studio and sang, and Ágnes & Csaba danced on a beach, on a freezing cold February day.
I researched a lot of additional one-world, joyful footage from a video library.
I have a healing intent with this song. I hope you enjoy!
