The Journal of Artorius Valiente The Road to Riften 11th of Hearthfire, 4E 201 I have left Windhelm behind me. The Butcher’s killings have ended, and though I cannot shake the feeling that something ancient stirs beneath that city, my path now leads elsewhere. During my travels, I have heard troubling rumors of a blue Khajiit in Riften who claims to have killed a Templar of Stendarr. Such a claim is not one I can easily ignore. The Templars were my family, my teachers, and the order to which I devoted my life. Though I have walked a lonely road for some time, my vows have not abandoned me. If this Khajiit truly murdered one of our own, I must learn the circumstances surrounding the deed. Yet rumors are often twisted by frightened men and careless tongues. I will not pass judgment before I have heard the truth for myself. I have therefore set my course for Riften, where I intend to find this blue wanderer and discover what truly happened. If he is responsible for the death of a brother in faith, he will answer for it. And if there is more to this tale than the rumors suggest, then I shall uncover that truth as well. — Artorius Valiente
