Elijah & Tessa traded a traditional large wedding for something much more intimate—a destination micro wedding in the Black Hills of South Dakota surrounded by about 20 of their closest family and friends. Everyone stayed together in two beautiful cabins for several days, turning their wedding into a shared adventure and an unforgettable experience. Their wedding day took them into the heart of Spearfish Canyon, where they exchanged deeply personal vows near Roughlock Falls. With their closest people gathered around them and their beloved dog by their side, the ceremony was incredibly heartfelt. Their personal vows brought tears to nearly everyone in attendance and created one of those quiet, emotional moments that made the day feel completely their own. After the ceremony, everyone gathered for an intimate wedding dinner at The Latchstring Restaurant in Spearfish Canyon before heading to Deadwood, South Dakota, to keep the celebration going at the Silverado and the iconic Saloon No. 10. But their wedding story didn't end there. Two days later, we met back up with Elijah & Tessa, along with JD Photography, for an epic adventure session. Starting at their unique Airbnb rental, The Glass Cabin near Lead, South Dakota, we explored the Black Hills together while giving them a chance to reflect on their wedding experience. Those reflections became part of their film, with Elijah & Tessa themselves narrating what they felt, what they loved most, and the moments that made their wedding weekend so meaningful. Their own voices help tell the story of a wedding that wasn't about having a huge crowd—it was about slowing down, being present, and celebrating with the people who mattered most. From Roughlock Falls and Spearfish Canyon to the historic streets of Deadwood, this film captures an intimate South Dakota wedding weekend filled with adventure, emotion, family, and a whole lot of love.
