It's such a great feeling to be able to fly again, even if just a short hop up to Scotland. Not much has really changed since I last flew either, the same covid rules still exist, social distancing, mask wearing etc. It was also great to see the flight being full too, something not too common during covid times, so that's definitely a good sign of demand for travel being present again Overall a fantastic flight up to Edinburgh, the crew were very welcoming as usual, and everything was on time, and smoothly done. I think the fact I hadn't flown in such a long time gave me even more excitement during this trip. Thanks to the single runway ops at Heathrow I also got to experience an 09L departure, which during normal times was extremely rare. The departure from 09L resulted in a short taxi to the runway from Terminal 5, and also provided excellent views across the airport and London as we rotated and banked northbound.
