Prague, Czechia 🇨🇿 - From Prague Castle to Old Town and Masaryčka - 4K Walk

From Prague Castle to Masaryčka, this route connects more than a thousand years of urban development. The castle originated in the ninth century and became the seat of Bohemian rulers, later serving Czech presidents. Its courtyards and hillside views introduce a city built across both banks of the Vltava. Descending Nerudova Street to Lesser Town Square and St. Nicholas Church, the walk moves through Malá Strana before crossing Charles Bridge, begun under Charles IV in 1357. Karlova then leads to Malé náměstí and Old Town Square, followed by Celetná, the House of the Black Madonna and the Powder Tower. The final stop, Masaryčka by Zaha Hadid Architects, brings the story into the present beside Masaryk railway station, where a contemporary development reuses land long separated from active city life. Today, Prague’s historic streets remain busy with shops, cafés and visitors, while new architecture adds another layer around transport hubs. The walk shows a capital evolving through royal spaces, medieval routes and bold additions to its modern centre.
