The 14 Million Baskets That Built America's 100-Foot Pyramid

Discover Cahokia, the lost American city that was bigger than London before Columbus and then vanished. On the Mississippi floodplain near St. Louis, this planned city covered six square miles with over 100 earthen mounds, including the 100-foot Monks Mound built from 14 million baskets of earth. The film traces its 1050 Big Bang, its 50-acre Grand Plaza and Woodhenge solar calendar, and why climate, floods and faith emptied it by 1400. New documentary every Thursday.
