Do you translate every English sentence in your head before you speak?
In this A1–A2 English podcast, Emma and Leo will show you five simple habits that can help you stop translating in your head and start thinking directly in English.
This lesson combines natural English conversation, listening practice, useful explanations, and guided speaking exercises. You do not need difficult vocabulary or long grammar lessons. You can begin with simple words and short sentences.
In this episode, you will learn how to:
✅ Name the things you see in English
✅ Think in useful English chunks
✅ Ask yourself simple questions
✅ Explain words using easy English
✅ Practise with an English-only timer
✅ Continue speaking when your mind goes blank
You will also practise a real café situation and learn useful expressions such as:
• My mind went blank.
• I’m on my way.
• Let me think.
• I’d like...
• It is a thing that...
• It is a person who...
• It is a place where...
This English listening and speaking practice is suitable for beginner and elementary learners at A1–A2 level. Listen to Emma and Leo, repeat the useful phrases, answer the questions aloud, and practise thinking in English with them.
You do not need perfect grammar. Start with one simple English thought and allow the next thought to follow naturally.
Try these habits for just ten minutes a day. With regular practice, you can respond more quickly, speak with less hesitation, and become more comfortable using English in everyday situations.
💬 Your turn:
