Previously, in the frequency separation, the Gaussian blur was used in most cases. But now "Median" is popular. Why? With median, the contour is not blurred when you increase the blur, the contour is still sharp. Which means it will be easier to edit texture, like the contour of lipstick. Now I'll show you: 1) I create a frequency separation first with a median: Filter/Noise/Median 2) Then I create the frequency separation with Gaussian Blur: Filter/Blur/Gaussian Blur And I turn off the texture in our groups. Check it out! Where I used the median, the contour remains clear, where I used Gaussian Blur - the contour is heavily blurred. And the skin is well blurred in both cases. Than I take a stamp, copy the texture and transfer as close to the lip contour as possible. Look how clean it is! And now I do the same thing, but on the frequency separation with a blur by Gaussian. Look at the dirt, the lipstick color blended in with the skin. I think the pluses are obvious and you're unlikely to go back to the Gaussian blur on the frequency separation :) If the video was helpful - give it a like, Subscribe!
