Almost everything you picture is wrong, starting with the noise. Drowning is silent. There is no splashing, no shouting, no waving. It usually takes under a minute, it often happens within a few metres of other people, and in a large number of cases someone was looking straight at it and did not recognise what they were seeing.
In this video you go through what the research and the medical record actually describe. What your throat does in the first seconds and why it works against you. Why the body cannot shout and swim at the same time. What the mammalian dive reflex is and why it explains the survival cases in cold water that sound impossible. And the part that matters most: what drowning genuinely looks like from the outside, the small set of signs lifeguards are trained to spot, and why children drown quietly a few feet from adults who never heard a thing. By the end you will be able to recognise it, which is the entire reason this video exists.
If this was useful, leave a like, send it to someone who takes their kids to the water, and subscribe for more.
