🏗️ How do you lift a 35-tonne concrete panel into place? And what does it take to build the infrastructure for an entirely new community?
Our November 2026 Plimmerton Farm progress update takes you right into the heart of the action, where massive machinery, impressive engineering and some serious logistical challenges are bringing this ambitious development to life!
One of this month's biggest highlights is the arrival of a giant crawler crane, transported up to the reservoir site in sections before being carefully assembled and put to work lifting enormous precast concrete panels weighing between 9 and 35 tonnes! Watch as these massive panels are lifted, precisely positioned and braced, ready for the next stage of joining and post-tensioning.
But getting the crane into position is a story in itself! Across Plimmerton Farm's steep and challenging terrain, access routes are being reshaped to accommodate heavy machinery, while major stabilisation works above Road 1 are helping secure the slopes for the future.
Meanwhile, there's plenty happening at the wastewater detention tank, where towering precast walls are now standing and approximately 250 cubic metres of concrete are needed for the floor slab alone! With wall connections, central columns and the concrete roof still to come, this is another impressive piece of infrastructure taking shape.
Plimmerton Farm is a major new master-planned community by Gillies Group, designed to combine quality homes with extensive native bush restoration, open spaces and modern infrastructure.
🚧 Big machines, enormous lifts and remarkable engineering! Join us behind the scenes as we explore the scale, complexity and teamwork involved in laying the foundations for Plimmerton Farm's future community.
