At the landing, you saw Doc, a B-29 Superfortress patiently waiting for me to land. Between 1942 and 1946, Boeing manufactured a total of 3,970 B-29 Superfortress airplanes, including prototypes. Today, only two are still flying. Doc and Fifi. Flying is a delicate balance of mental agility, mechanical grace and programmed discipline. Welcome to Flying Over 80—where age stays on the ground and adventure takes flight. If you are over 80 years old and still flying, send us you videos. We will edit and post them absolutely free. Simply shoot your video with an iPhone or GoPro, send it to send it to Cessna (my tail number) @gmail.com. That's it! By the way, if you can't read the tail number it's N19208. Thousands of licensed pilots over the age of 80 are still flying, exploring, learning, and enjoying the freedom of the skies. I’m proud to be one of them—and a member of the United Flying Octogenarians, an international group of active pilots ages 80 and older. There are 4,800 pilots in the US over the age of 80. The United Flying Octogenarians (UFO), was  founded in 1982 with just a handful of pilots. Now that group has grown to around 1,700 members worldwide. A requirement to join the organization is that a person has to have flown an aircraft as a certificated pilot in command (PIC) on or after their 80th birthday I turned 80 recently, bought a Cessna 150, and started this channel to prove something important: Life doesn’t end at 80. The runway just gets more interesting. Flying Over 80 will feature older pilots doing what they love—from local flights and cross-country adventures to cockpit stories and unforgettable views from above. I’ll share my own flights across Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, and beyond—and I invite fellow pilots over 80 to send in their flying videos so I can help share their stories with the world. There’s an old saying: “There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots.” We think they’re wrong. We are experienced. We are active. We fly with skill, discipline, and a lifelong respect for safety—and we still have plenty of sky ahead of us. If you’re an octogenarian pilot, send us your story and footage. If you love aviation, adventure, or refusing to be defined by your age, subscribe and come fly with us. Flying Over 80: Old enough to know better. Bold enough to keep flying. Because you ain’t dead ’til you’re dead—and until then, there’s sky to explore.
