NEW ASUS A16 X2 Elite Extreme! Unboxing + 2TB SSD Upgrade & First Impressions

This NEW ASUS Zenbook A16 with the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme has really surprised me! In this video, I'm doing a quick unboxing, checking out the new ASUS A16, and upgrading the internal SSD to 2TB. What immediately caught my attention is just how LIGHT this 16-inch laptop is. It is incredibly easy to carry around for a laptop with such a large screen, and the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme feels very fast in the time I've spent using it so far. I also really like the selection of ports, which makes this laptop especially interesting to me as a possible portable video-editing machine. I've only done some very minor video-editing tests so far, so this is NOT a full editing performance review yet. I still need to put it through much more testing with DaVinci Resolve and real-world video projects. But so far, I'm impressed. One of the things I'm particularly interested in testing is whether this could become one of my main computers for editing footage from my action cameras, including my DJI Osmo Action cameras and my GoPro Mission 1 Pro. I'll be testing 4K and 8K footage, including GoPro GP-LOG2 footage, to see how well the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme handles real-world video editing. What I Cover: • ASUS Zenbook A16 unboxing • Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme • First impressions • How light this 16-inch laptop is • Ports and connectivity • Upgrading the SSD to 2TB • Potential for mobile/portable video editing • Future testing with action-camera footage ASUS has made some pretty impressive claims with this new A16, and other reviews have also highlighted the combination of the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme's performance and the extremely lightweight 16-inch design. ASUS lists configurations with up to 48GB of LPDDR5X memory, PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage, USB4, USB-A, HDMI and an SD card reader depending on configuration. What I like is that Asus put in a 2280 slot for upgrading the SSD storage as needed. Eventually, if I use this more as my mobile and on-the-go, or even at my home office for editing and regular work, installing an 8TB drive would be an option. I'm going to spend more time with this laptop before giving my final verdict. Could this become my new portable video-editing laptop? We'll see!
