This video will demonstrate the procedures of the immunohistochemistry technique. Immunohistochemistry allows for the detection and localisation of protein expression within a tissue. It utilises the specificity of antigen - antibody interactions to recognise a target protein in a tissue section. The technique is used here to localise expression of the mouse DLK1 protein. Localisation of the target is visualised using the indirect staining method, signal amplification using Avidin - Biotin Complex and chromogenic detection methods. Immunohistochemistry is presented by Féaron Cassidy and directed by Rosemary Clyne.
