🚨 THE BULLS BLEW A 19-POINT LEAD! HOW DO YOU LOSE THIS GAME?! 🔴⚫🐂
BULLS NATION, THIS ONE HURTS! 😤
The Chicago Bulls looked ready to deliver a statement win against the reigning NBA champion New York Knicks. They built a 19-POINT LEAD in the third quarter at the United Center, had the defending champs on the ropes, and looked like they were about to give Chicago something to celebrate.
Then everything changed.
The Knicks fought back, took control in the fourth quarter, and escaped Chicago with a 133–127 WIN. New York poured in 43 points in the final period, and Jalen Brunson delivered a clutch 38-point performance to break Bulls fans' hearts.
Chicago made one last push, cutting the deficit to just three points late, but the comeback fell short.
HOW DO YOU LET A 19-POINT LEAD SLIP AWAY AT HOME?!
Welcome to WHOLE LOTTA BULL — where Bulls talk is real, the fans come first, and we ALWAYS SEE RED! 🐂
Host Troy (@bulls_troy) is breaking down the heartbreak, the positives, the missed opportunities, and the questions that Bulls Nation needs answered.
🔥 TOPIC 1: THE 19-POINT LEAD — HOW DID THE BULLS LET THIS HAPPEN?
For a moment, Chicago had the defending champions exactly where it wanted them. The Bulls built their lead through aggressive offence, timely shooting, and contributions from across the roster.
But the Knicks refused to go away.
New York chipped away at the advantage, found its rhythm from three-point range, and carried that momentum into a devastating fourth quarter. The Knicks outscored Chicago 43–31 in the final period, turning a potential statement win into another painful defeat.
Was it poor execution? Costly turnovers? The inability to get stops when the game was on the line? Or did the Knicks simply show why they're the reigning champs?
Troy breaks down where the game turned and why closing out quality opponents remains such a huge test for this Bulls team.
🐂 TOPIC 2: NORMAN POWELL AND CALEB WILSON DELIVER — BUT IS IT ENOUGH?
There were genuine positives for Chicago.
Norman Powell exploded for 30 points, shooting an efficient 10-of-15 from the field. Rookie Caleb Wilson added 20 points and six rebounds, continuing to give Bulls fans reasons to be excited about his future.
Matas Buzelis also scored 17 points, while Jalen Smith contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bulls showed they can score with elite competition. They knocked down 18 three-pointers and made the Knicks work for this victory.
But individual performances only go so far when the team cannot finish the job.
Troy looks at the players who stepped up, what Chicago can build on, and whether the positives are enough to offset another frustrating loss.
⚫ TOPIC 3: CLOSING GAMES — CAN THE BULLS LEARN TO WIN THE BIG MOMENTS?
This is the biggest question coming out of the game.
Chicago fought back after falling behind late, pulling within three points with less than a minute remaining. The opportunity was there. The Bulls had a chance to force a dramatic finish, but Powell's late three-point attempt missed, and New York made the free throws it needed to seal the win.
Jalen Brunson finished with 38 points and seven assists, while OG Anunoby added 23 points. When the pressure rose, the Knicks found the plays they needed.
That is the difference between having a chance to win and actually closing out a game.
What can Chicago learn from this? How much responsibility falls on the players, and how much falls on head coach Tiago Splitter? Can this young Bulls group turn these painful lessons into progress?
Troy gives his unfiltered take on what this result means for the team's direction and what Bulls fans should watch for next.
