How Did Ancient Humans Cross The Ocean?

65,000 years ago, people crossed open ocean to reach Australia. No maps. No sails. No metal tools. And no way of knowing if there was any land out there at all. 🛶 Even at the lowest Ice Age sea levels, the gap between Asia and Australia never closed. The water in between is hundreds, in places thousands of metres deep. So the only way across was at least 70 kilometres of open sea, with the far side hidden below the horizon.
