Dave Deason was born in South Dakota, and grew up in South Carolina and Florida. He received both the BM and MM degrees from Florida State University. After graduating, he began teaching at Universities in South Carolina and New Jersey. He received his DMA from The Ohio State University, and was offered a Department Chair position in Portland, Oregon. He remained in Oregon for 25 years, after which he, his wife Mary, and their 5 Scottish Terriers moved to Kentucky, where he presently resides. This is his Trio for Flute, Soprano Sax, and Piano, recorded by the Verismo Trio on their album "cloudServer".
