The Drawing That Moved | A Classic Ghost Story

M. R. James's classic 1895 ghost story, retold. An English scholar visits a remote French cathedral and buys an old scrap-book from a sacristan who is far too glad to be rid of it. The last page holds an ink drawing of a room in the cloisters, and a figure waiting at the edge of the lamplight. It is better not to bring such a thing to your lodging. The original story, by M. R. James, is in the public domain; this telling is in new words. 0:00 The sacristan 1:41 Title 1:44 The scrap-book 3:11 The edge of the light 5:06 The sacristan's tale 6:56 The cloister room 9:12 Afterwards 10:54 Your Turn Retold from M.
