Why should Africa care about climate change? - Dorah Marema,

Should Africa care about climate change? Climate change impacts do not discriminate. But Africa, and specifically women will be most impacted. Will Africa be able to cope with extreme weather events? In this video Dora Marema discusses the impact of climate change on Africa, especially women and the importance of taking action now. Africa has to step up and tackle the drivers of climate change and also prepare itself for the inevitable effects. This is particularly important for rural areas where women carry the added burdens of climate change disasters. From the health impacts, water, and poverty Africa cannot afford to sit and watch as we anticipate drought, food insecurity and at worst a continental famine. #ClimateChange #Africa #women
