The most-liked comment under the biggest video about Claude's weekly limits says it is like driving a car without a gauge. I hit the same wall mid-task enough times that I built the gauge. Quota is a small Mac app that puts your Claude limits in the corner of the screen: the 5-hour window, the weekly limit, and the separate weekly Opus limit, as three rings that go yellow, then red, before you get cut off.
This is not a "never hit your limits again" video. There is no trick. It shows you the number, so the wall stops being a surprise.
What's covered:
What the limit actually is: three meters, one shared pool across claude.ai, the desktop app, Claude Code and Cowork
Why Settings, Usage is not enough: buried, does not refresh, missing on free and mobile
The tools that already exist and what each one misses: browser extensions, ccusage, CodeBurn, Usage Monitor, CodexBar
Estimating from logs versus reading the real meter: the difference no other video explains
The widget: rings, countdown to reset, pace and forecast, alerts at thresholds, peek hotkey, launch at login
Sign in with Claude: no terminal, no password stored, no extra tokens
The honest part: unsigned app, Gatekeeper's "Open Anyway", an undocumented endpoint
Straight answers to the questions under every other video:
Mac only (Apple Silicon and Intel). No Windows version.
Paid plans only. The free tier has no usage meter, so there is nothing to read.
Works whichever surface you use Claude on: Code, desktop app, web. It is one pool.
Not a subscription.
It reads the same percentages Anthropic shows you. It is not an estimate.
