Fall is my favorite time of year to plein air paint. The weather becomes pleasantly crisp, my favorite subject~ trees~ are in their full glory and bugs have gone back to hell, where they belong. I am often asked about mixing colors and how I am able to capture color similarities with such a limited palette. I wanted to make a video demonstrating this during my most favorite time of year~ Autumn! I shared a shorter clip of this video a while back, but I thought that making this video Number 3 in a 4 part series about painting Fall Plein Air, that I would share the full length video with you now. I know you will enjoy my simple and engaging process of how I work out the practice of color mixing. While I am working with oils, the practice and science of color mixing applies to any medium.
