How to Tie the Picket Pin, A Classic Fly Pattern for Trout and Panfish

The Picket Pin was one of the first half dozen or so patterns I learned to tie almost 30 years ago. I still use it today. Unweighted and un-beaded, the Picket Pin is an excellent pattern for low, clear water and finicky trout, not to mention it works exceptionally well on panfish!
