Drivers on I-90 called police about SUVs they believed were making fake traffic stops. When deputies caught up with the two drivers, they said they were heading to a parade. One insisted his emergency lights weren’t even connected.
So what happened on the highway?
In this episode of Breaking Down Bodycams, we follow the deputies’ questions, the drivers’ explanations, and the witness information behind an arrest. There’s one detail worth listening for: the witness deputies discuss wasn’t the person allegedly pulled over.
The two drivers also had different outcomes. According to The Spokesman-Review’s July 20, 2026 report, Ethan Denmark was arrested on suspicion of criminal impersonation and released on bail July 6. The other driver was released because deputies lacked probable cause. An arrest isn’t a conviction, and we haven’t independently verified a later court outcome.
What would help settle this first—a recording of the alleged stop or an account from the driver who was pulled over? Tell us in the comments and explain why.
