7 body lotions flagged. Only 4 made our winners list.
We put some of the biggest lotion brands under scrutiny and looked past the promises of deep hydration, sensitive skin care, dermatologist recommendations, and all day moisture.
Because what makes your skin feel soft is only part of the story.
Fragrance, preservatives, potential allergens, controversial ingredients, ingredient transparency, and what these brands actually put inside the bottle all matter when you are applying a product across your skin every single day.
THE 3 SECOND RULE: flip the bottle around and look beyond the moisturizing claims. Check for fragrance, parfum, unnecessary dyes, preservatives, and long ingredient lists that give you very little information about what is actually creating that scent.
Some of the most recognizable lotions did not perform nearly as well under scrutiny as their labels might suggest.
