Cozy English Podcast | Slow & Natural Conversations with David &Alice Do you understand English when you read it, but struggle when people speak naturally? Maybe you know the vocabulary. Maybe you understand the grammar. But when you hear a real conversation, the words seem to connect, disappear, or move too quickly. This 40-minute English podcast lesson is designed to help you change that. Alice and David guide you through a relaxed, natural B1–B2 listening practice where the goal is not to understand every single word. Instead, you will learn how to follow the main idea, use context, recognize natural expressions, understand longer conversations, and become more comfortable with real spoken English. 🌿 WHAT YOU’LL PRACTICE ✓ Understanding English without translating every word ✓ Catching the main idea of conversations and stories ✓ Using context to understand unfamiliar vocabulary ✓ Following natural B1–B2 conversations ✓ Recognizing connected and contracted speech ✓ Understanding common expressions and conversation signals ✓ Staying focused during longer listening sections ✓ Shadowing natural English sentences ✓ Building a realistic daily listening routine This lesson is especially useful if you often think: “I know this word, but I didn’t understand it when someone said it.” That is normal. Reading vocabulary and recognizing the same vocabulary in natural speech are different skills. Your ears need regular contact with spoken English. ⏰ PODCAST CHAPTERS 00:00 🎧 Welcome & Listening Warm-Up 00:45 🧠 Part 1 — Stop Trying to Understand Every Word 07:30 🎯 Part 2 — Listen for the Main Idea 14:30 🗣 Part 3 — Real English Doesn’t Sound Like a Textbook 21:30 🔗 Part 4 — Follow Longer Conversations Without Getting Lost 28:30 🚀 Part 5 — The Final Listening Challenge 34:00 👂 Context, Comprehension & Natural Expressions 36:00 🎙 Shadowing and Speaking Practice 38:00 📚 Simple Daily Listening Routine 39:00 ⭐️ Final Review & 7-Day Challenge 💡 HOW TO USE THIS LESSON For your first listen, relax and follow the conversation without stopping every time you hear an unfamiliar word. On your second listen, pay more attention to useful expressions, pronunciation, connected speech, and how Alice and David move naturally between ideas. Then choose a short section and practice shadowing. Listen to one sentence and repeat it aloud while trying to copy the rhythm and natural flow. You do not need perfect pronunciation. You are training your ears and mouth to work together. 🌟 YOUR 7-DAY LISTENING CHALLENGE Listen to English every day for the next seven days. Even 15–20 minutes can become valuable practice when you listen consistently and actively. Instead of asking, “What words didn’t I understand?” try asking: “What did I understand?” Focus on the people, situation, main idea, emotions, problem, and result. 💬 COMMENT PRACTICE What is the hardest part of English listening for you?
