Being an engineering science student at the University of Toronto, Alex has put in a lot of work to get where he is today. His story as to what drove his effort is surprising and inspiring all at once. Alexander Cubellis is a 21-year-old student at the University of Toronto studying Engineering Science with a specialization in Mathematics, Statistics and Finance. He is also a residence don at St. Michael's College. He was born in Scarborough and raised in Markham, Ontario. Currently, he is very excited to be on a 16-month internship placement at Labatt Breweries as a Logistics Intern as part of the University of Toronto's Professional Experience Year Program.' He is an ordinary guy (and a bit of a self-proclaimed nerd) who enjoys soccer, playing poker with his buddies and getting beaten at chess. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
