SONG OF ODYSSEY
At the edge of his flashing sword,
beneath arrows flying like the wind,
men fall before him—
none can stand against him.
Having reveled in the glorious victory of Troy,
his blood-stained sword awaits
the curse of the gods.
Upon the hills where the dead still mourn,
or deep beneath the dark-blue sea,
a voice calls his name—
**Odysseus…
Odysseus…**
The harsh breath of the rowers
sleeps within the raging waves.
The bodies of his comrades
have not yet returned to dust.
Their souls wander through the realm of the dead,
reaching out to hold him back
as he struggles toward his homeland.
**Turn back!
Turn back!
The time has not yet come!**
The scent of his wife
searches desperately for him
through the years of oblivion.
Bound by the wrath of the gods,
he endures a long, pale emptiness—
countless nights,
countless waves,
an endless sea of death.
The legend of the Odyssey
still cries the name
of the Trojan War hero.
But having earned the wrath of Poseidon,
his body wanders beyond the veiled world,
together with the souls of the dead.
The blood upon his sword
calls for death once more,
while his fallen comrades
remain forever at his side.
**O sea, do not swallow me.
O storm, do not block my way.
I shall return.
To my homeland—
to Ithaca.**
Countless stars disappear,
countless dawns pass,
and at last he returns.
But there he finds
those who covet his crown,
greedy laughter,
and his kingdom falling into ruin.
White-haired,
in the guise of an old beggar,
he stands before them.
Yet within his heart
the blood of a young warrior still burns,
and the fire of Troy
still lives within his soul.
**Bring me my bow.
Bring me my sword.
The King of Ithaca has returned.**
He draws the bow
that no other man could bend.
The arrow flies—
and the name of the fallen hero
thunders once again across the world.
**Odysseus!
Odysseus!**
Beyond the curse of the gods,
beyond the sea of death,
beyond the years of oblivion—
the one who returned.
The Trojan War hero.
The King of Ithaca.
Bearing the deaths of his comrades,
carrying countless waves within his heart,
he has finally returned home.
*Odysseus.*
And once more,
his name is called.
The sea grows still.
The spirits of the dead fall silent.
Beyond the distant horizon,
the light of dawn appears.
And at last—
**Ithaca,
I have returned.**
*Odysseus.*
