In 1600, a humble shoemaker gazed upon sunlight reflected on shining pewter and, in that moment, he was transformed. He had witnessed the true depths of reality and experienced divine omnipresence. And, for the rest of his life Jakob Böhme 24 April 1575 – 17 November 1624 attempted to systematize the truths of nature, the soul, philosophy and theology into what he called Theosophy. In this first episode in our series on the Theosophy of Böhme we introduce some of this main ideas and start at the end of his career with the wonderful series of essays gathered together and entitle The Way to Christ.
