The Backrooms may look like a massive digital labyrinth but a surprising amount of it was actually built in the real world. Kane Parsons designed the environment in Blender before production even started, creating an enormous interconnected version of the Backrooms that reportedly represented around 100,000 square feet. When production designer Danny Vermette received the file, it was apparently so massive that it crashed his computer. They eventually turned parts of Kane's digital design into roughly 30,000 square feet of physical sets across four soundstages... and the maze was so large that cast and crew members actually got lost inside it. Here's how Kane's Blender creation went from a digital environment to a massive physical Backrooms that actors could actually walk through.
