A Morning Caring for 15,000 Chickens Across 5 Flocks

Today we’re spending another morning at Lap Le Hill Farm, caring for 15,000 chickens across five different flocks on our hillside farm in rural Vietnam. Each flock is at a different stage of growth, so the morning routine changes from house to house. These daily tasks are part of everyday poultry farming. We begin with House 1, where the Mia chickens are now 144 days old, followed by House 2 with 122-day-old Lac Thuy chickens. Feeding, checking water, and observing the birds carefully are important parts of responsible poultry farming. Next, we visit House 3 with 30-day-old Mia chickens and House 4 with 110-day-old Black chickens. The difference in age and breed means each flock has its own needs, which is part of the daily work behind practical poultry farming. We then continue to House 5, where the Lac Thuy chickens are now 57 days old. Moving through all five flocks takes time, patience, and consistency, especially when caring for such a large number of birds.
