I Traded a Custom Shop Gibson... Here's Why

In this video, I compare my Gibson Custom Shop 1957 Reissue Goldtop (R7) with a 2012 Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom Goldtop and explain why I made what many guitar players might consider a surprising trade. Yes... I traded the Custom Shop R7 for the Classic Custom. I compare both guitars through the same amp settings on my Friedman Twin Sister, go over the specifications, discuss the similarities and differences in feel and tone, and explain the thought process behind my decision. One thing that really surprised me is that despite one being a Gibson Custom Shop guitar and the other being a USA production model, they're currently bringing very similar prices on the used market. That raises an interesting question... Is the Custom Shop really the better buy, or is the Classic Custom one of Gibson's hidden gems?
