Episode 13 of the Bob Marley Narrowboat Project is all about getting the boat another step closer to becoming a proper home on the water. This week I’m pulling in all the electrical cables, getting the wiring into place ready for the lights, sockets, pumps and everything else that’ll eventually bring the boat to life. I also take a look at something that’s pretty important if you’re living aboard or continuously cruising — how to improve your 3G/4G mobile signal on a narrowboat. I explain the difference between high-gain and low-gain antennas, beamwidth, and why simply buying the antenna with the biggest gain figure isn't always the best option when you're surrounded by trees, hills and changing locations. I’ll also be making a separate video soon dedicated entirely to getting a better 3G, 4G and 5G internet signal on a narrowboat, where I’ll go into much more detail on antennas, routers, positioning and how to get the best possible connection while out on the cut. 📡 I even get some expert assistance from my mate Ryan, aka DJ RKL from City Sounds Radio... except he doesn't actually turn up. 😂 Absolute waste of oxygen.
