Syad Mujtaba Ali was multilingual, but for his mother tongue left East Pakistan (Bangladesh) and joined Santiniketan as a professor. After Bangladesh's independence, he returned and died. From his collection Chacha Kahini, we present the story Ma-Janani. This story is about the young Chacha, who spent time in Germany doing many odd jobs and describing the beautiful experience of a nurse who is a would-be mother and her enormous pain in leaving her child.
