Outer Banks Flooding Gets Worse | Highway 12 CLOSED as Josephine May Form

Massive waves and coastal flooding are hitting North Carolina’s Outer Banks, forcing the closure of Highway 12 after ocean overwash and serious dune erosion. Visitors remain under evacuation orders on Hatteras Island, ferry service has been disrupted, and more high tides could bring additional flooding through the middle of the week. At the same time, the offshore storm is being monitored for possible subtropical development and could eventually become Josephine.
