Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood - Full Concert [HD] | Live at North Sea Festival 2007

FRIDAY 13 JULY 2007 • CONGO • Rotterdam Ahoy, The Netherlands LINEUP John Medeski (piano); John Scofield (guitar); Billy Martin (drums); Chris Wood (bass). ABOUT Medeski, Martin & Wood have always written their names as if they were lawyers, and with the partnership of the American super guitarist John Scofield they surely established the name of their firm. Ten years after their first collaboration - Medeski, Martin & Wood supplied smooth contributions to Scofield's jazz funk album A Go Go - there's a new record in the shops: Out Louder. Modern jazz guitar's most eloquent improviser fuses his flexible funky string sound with the grooving, adventurous jam jazz of the New York based keyboardist John Medeski, bassist Chris Wood and drummer Billy Martin. They opted for an equal approach: new grooves in new forms, mostly created during long jams, with the recording tape rolling. 'Sco', who recently performed with the Metropole Orchestra, adores playing with the hip jazz trio that succeeded in turning young music lovers to jazz. Be prepared for modern day jazz fusion at the highest level. Welcome to the official North Sea Jazz Archive!
