"In July 2022, The Black Angels performed a special seven-song set for KUTX amid the lush surroundings of Austin’s Zilker Botanical Garden. The location held personal meaning for frontman Alex Maas, who often visited the garden with his son during the pandemic. It also provided a fitting setting for the band’s performance of “El Jardín”—Spanish for “the garden”—from its then-upcoming album, *Wilderness of Mirrors*. Filmed at one of Austin’s most distinctive natural spaces, the band presented its music in a more stripped-back setting than its typically dense and high-volume live shows. The set brings together the imagery surrounding the band’s new music, Maas’s personal connection to the garden and a rare, more intimate side of The Black Angels’ live performance.
