Schumann – Of Foreign Lands and Peoples (Kinderszenen) | Piano Tutorial + Sheet Music

Hi everyone! Several of my students have already played this wonderful piece, and little by little I learned it almost by itself — as often happens when you go through the same music many times with students. Schumann’s Of Foreign Lands and Peoples from Kinderszenen is one of those rare miniatures that seem very simple at first, but contain a whole world of tenderness, imagination, and poetic feeling. The more I return to it, the more I feel how refined and sincere this music is. It speaks quietly, without any external effect, but that is exactly where its charm lies. I am also thinking about recording the entire Kinderszenen cycle in the future.
